AN EALING man has been sent to prison after flouting a ban on visiting his mother.

Residents and visitors at the sheltered housing scheme Heron House complained of being intimidated by Clifford Doyley, who was living with his elderly mum there in breach of her tenancy.

Doyley, 52, was given an injunction order to keep him out of the grounds, following allegations of theft and verbal altercations, and after breaching the order twice in one month he has received a six-month prison sentence.

Councillor Ranjit Dheer, cabinet member for safety, culture and community services, said: “The lives of vulnerable residents at this sheltered housing scheme were being blighted by the anti-social behaviour of Mr Doyley, who showed a total lack of respect for them, his mother and the law.

“I am pleased by the swift, robust action taken by our officers in partnership with the police, resulting in a fitting custodial sentence for him.

“Our residents have every right to feel safe and secure in their homes and I urge them to report any similar incidents without fail.”

Doyley originally received a two-month suspended sentence after breaching the injunction order the first time.

Chief Inspector Sharon Heyes said the police would continue to work with Ealing Council to tackle anti-social behaviour.
