YOUNG Southall volunteers helped to brighten up the day for residents of a Twickenham care home earlier this month.

The Southall branch of Victory Youth Group (VYG) attended Lynne House Care Home as part of the organisation’s annual ‘We Care!’ outreach programme on July 9.

Volunteers socialised with the residents, played skittles with them and performed a number of energetic songs.

VYG member Candice Hinds said: “The residents really enjoyed the company and the activities we did with them.

“It was a good experience and it really made a difference.”

The VYG is the youth section of the Universal Church and Kingdom of God that approaches local authorities or its regional HelpCentres to encourage participants to get involved in worthy causes in the community.

“The visit to the care home was fun," said VYG volunteer Jodian Falcher.

"Not everyone participated but those who did were laughing and had a good time, others just watched.

"We were invited to stay for longer and were asked to come back in the future.”

The UCKG see more than 1,300 members attend weekly VYG meeting and has grown in popularity since the Pentecostal church reached the UK in 1996.
