Police have warned Pinner residents to beware after a spying device was discovered attached to a cash machine.
Scammers attached an iPod to the housing of the Barclays cash machine on Bridge Street, Pinner, to record users entering their PIN numbers.
A “skimming” device was also fitted to steal unwitting customers’ cards, making it appear as though they have been eaten by the machine.
Both were removed by police, and the ATM is due to be replaced by a tamper-proof model imminently.
Sergeant Roni Doyle said: “These devices will not be used soon as most of the banks have already changed their ATMs to the new tamper-proof machines.
“But customers should always cover their PIN when using these machines. We have identified this suspect and he will be arrested as soon as possible.”
