Harrow residents have been urged come together to support the ‘vital’ work of the London Air Ambulance as new statistics reveal how the service has helped the borough this year so far.

The service tended 17 patients in Harrow in the first six months of 2016, it has been revealed as part of an infographic to commemorate National Air Ambulance Week.

Across London 917 people were treated from January to June for road traffic collisions, stabbings, shootings and falls among other causes of injury

MP for Harrow West Gareth Thomas said: “London’s Air Ambulance saves lives across London every day and it work is vital to the health and safety of our brilliant city.

“With National Air Ambulance Week soon approaching, I want to ask all Harrow residents to get involved and support their local air ambulance and the excellent emergency care they provide.”

The release of information comes with a plea for people to donate £5 to the charity to help keep it funded and able to operate 24 hours every day across London.
