The top two seeds will meet in the Girls' Singles final of the 18U Lexus Junior National Championships, with Hannah Klugman from Surrey set to take on Mimi Xu from South Wales on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Boys' Singles final will be contested by Surrey's Oliver Bonding and Scotland North's Charlie Robertson after some high-quality semi-finals were played out at the LTA's National Tennis Centre.

Bringing together the top players across the nation from the 11 and under to 18 and under age groups, the National Championships are the highest level of junior competition in Britain.

Andy Murray, Heather Watson and Dan Evans are among a long list of past British champions who have gone on to become household names in the game and along with the prestige of winning the Junior National Championships, a wildcard into the main draw at Wimbledon qualifying is also up for grabs for this week's champions.

Top seed Klugman moved into the final after a 6-2 6-1 win against Hertfordshire's Hephzibah Oluwadare, with No.2 seed Xu beating Middlesex's Mika Stojsavljevic 6-3 6-1.

Klugman, who won the 16U Junior National Championships last year and also lifted the prestigious U18 Orange Bowl Girls' singles title in Florida in December, is No.6 in the ITF Junior rankings.

Xu, who is No.11 in the ITF Junior rankings, will be aiming to win the 18U Junior National Championships for a second time after her victory in 2022.

"We have a really high level in the Girls 18U tournament this year," said Katie O'Brien, LTA Women's National Coach.

"The score lines may suggest the semi-finals were quite one-sided, but it could have been a lot closer as the matches were competitive.

"These girls all know each other so well, they play doubles together and they are all pushing each other along. Regardless of who wins the final tomorrow, the future is looking very bright for all of the girls playing here this week."

Bonding's 6-1 6-3 win against Kent's Benjamin Gusic-Wan was his first win against an opponent who beat him in the final of last year's 16U Junior National Championships.

It has already been a stellar year for Bonding, who became the first British Boy to win the J500 Blumenau title – also known as the Banana Bowl – since 2010 last month.

The Banana Bowl is one of the biggest international competitions in the junior calendar, standing just below the Junior Grand Slams.

Robertson will be Bonding's opponent in the final after his 6-4 6-4 victory against Avon's Charlie Swaine in a competitive contest.

"It is a strong draw this week," said Martin Weston, LTA Men's National Coach. "Four of the top seeds are boys with junior ITF rankings that are getting them into Junior Grand Slams. They played the Australian Open and there is every chance they will get into Roland Garros. That is very, very positive.

"We've had a bit of everything this week. Monday was very windy, we've had an upset or two and the two players who have got to the final probably deserve to be there.

"I think the final will be a long, tough and competitive match."
